Richard Allen Coalition celebrates 100 years

February 10, 2025

It’s not every day folks get to celebrate a 100th anniversary, but the people of the Richard Allen Coalition Inc. did exactly that Feb. 1.

Community leaders, former students and local dignitaries gathered at the CHEER Community Center in Georgetown to commemorate the Richard Allen School’s enduring legacy, sharing stories of personal growth and community progress.

Officials emphasized the centennial celebration was not only a reflection of the past, but also a commitment to continuing the school’s mission as a museum and civic center for future generations.

The festivities featured catering from Blessed by the Best, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and music by A.K. Sound and Audio. The event also included Ivan Neal as the emcee and Paul Williams, chief meteorologist at WRDE, as the keynote speaker.
