Rotary’s Empty Bowls event helps local nonprofits fight hunger April 27
The Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club will host its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 27, at St. Jude the Apostle Family Life Center, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes.
This family-friendly event raises awareness about food insecurity in the community. All donations and proceeds will directly benefit local nonprofits working to fight hunger. Attendees can warm their hearts and stomachs with a bowl of hearty soup, served alongside fresh bread donated by SoDel Concepts restaurants and Pasqualini’s Bakery. Ice cream will also be available, courtesy of Vanderwende Farm Creamery.
Guests are invited to choose from a selection of handmade, artisan-crafted bowls to take home, a powerful symbol of the many bowls left empty by hunger. Tickets are $30, or $40 for VIP early admission from 2 to 4 p.m. Children 12 and under are admitted free. To purchase tickets, go to eventbrite.com/e/empty-bowls-fight-hunger-fundraiser. Donations of $25, $50 or $100 are also welcome.
