Sea Air from the air in 1960s

June 11, 2024

Back in the 1960s, the stretch of Route 1 (then Route 14) wasn’t much but farm fields. To see what it once was, look no further than this aerial image of the Sea Air mobile home park. Built in the early to mid-1960s, the park was called Sea Air Mobile City, which by the looks of this image, was pretty accurate. The cornfields in the foreground are now Tanger Outlets Seaside. The front section of Sea Air is now the shopping center with Outlet Liquors, Touch of Italy and Eggcellent, among others. The large green rectangle in the middle of Sea Air now contains community amenities, and the park has expanded a bit more.
