SPC to host Center for Inland Bays director April 8

March 28, 2025

The Sussex Preservation Coalition will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, at Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

Guest speaker will be Christophe Tulou, executive director of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays.  With the uncertainty of federal funding, which represents a large portion of CIB’s annual budget, it is important that SPC, its members and allies, understand the impact a loss of federal funding for CIB could have on Sussex County, its watershed and its future. Tulou will explain what CIB does and why its work is vital to the health and wellbeing of residents and visitors, as well as Sussex County’s economic prosperity.

The meeting is free and open to the public, and a Zoom link will be available at sussexpreservationcoalition.org. Attendees are asked to register in advance by emailing spcde.org@gmail.com

The coalition comprises local environmental groups in Sussex County dedicated to preserving and protecting local ecosystems. Its mission is to increase the impact of groups and individuals through working together to educate, organize, advocate and act.

To demonstrate its support, SPC will donate 30% of proceeds from its Green Gala to the Center for the Inland Bays. The event will be held from 4 to 7 Wednesday, May 14, in the ballroom at Baywood Greens, Long Neck.
