Super Bowl LVII should be a high-scoring game thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs having two of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL. My prediction for the score of the game is 28-24 with the Eagles winning. When the Eagles won Super Bowl LII, they had to play Tom Brady, and that game had a very exciting finish to it. I expect that to be the case this time too. The Chiefs have an underrated defense led by defensive end Chris Jones. He is a beast and he’s going to be an important factor for the Eagles’ offensive line to hold him to one sack in this game. If they can achieve this, I think the Eagles will win. I hope the coaches give Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell a chance to run the ball consistently, and don’t rely on Jalen Hurts to do everything to win this game. It will also be important for the Eagles to score first so that Patrick Mahomes doesn’t get anymore confidence than he already has. Let’s see if the Eagles can finish the job. The Phillies got close, but didn’t cross the finish line. I'm hoping for a better result Sunday.
The NBA trade deadline has passed. Most of the action was in the Western Conference since both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant got traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns, respectively. As of a week ago, blockbuster trades were not expected to happen, but when Irving asked for a trade from his third team, the dominos started to fall. Once Irving was gone, Durant figured there was no chance to win a championship this year, so he asked for a trade to Phoenix. All this drama helps the Sixers because Brooklyn is no longer a threat to beat the Sixers in the playoffs. As I predicted, the Sixers traded Matisse Thybulle to the Portland Trailblazers. I hope this motivates P.J. Tucker to score more points since he is the only defensive stopper on the team.
In other NBA news, LeBron James became the all-time leading scorer in NBA history this week and it is not like he’s going to retire at the end of season, so he is going to really build on this record. He has done a great job living up to the hype the media put on him when he was in high school. He was called the “Chosen One” and put on the front page of Sports illustrated as a 16-year-old. Talk about pressure!
