Sussex County Land Trust welcomes new board member
The Sussex County Land Trust announced the appointment of Trisha Newcomer to its board of directors.
A nonprofit organization, the land trust is dedicated to preserving the region's natural, cultural, agricultural and recreational resources.
Newcomer brings more than 25 years of experience in municipal government, economic development and community relations to the board. As director of economic development and community relations for the City of Seaford, she plays a key role in managing public communications, overseeing significant development projects and fostering collaborations with state and federal legislators.
Throughout her career, Newcomer has spearheaded successful initiatives, including the Oyster House Park master plan and the Western Sussex Business Campus, while securing crucial funding for local projects.
Newcomer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wilmington University and is a Leadership Delaware graduate. Her commitment to the community extends beyond her professional role, as she actively serves on several boards, including the Sussex County Health Coalition and Soroptimist International of Seaford.
"We are excited to welcome Trisha Newcomer to our board of directors," said Ring Lardner, SCLT board chair. "Her extensive experience in economic development, community engagement and public relations will be invaluable as we continue our mission to protect the region's valuable resources and educate the community about land conservation."
