Then and now: A few "Say it again, Sam" moments from 2013
I wanted to end 2013 and start 2014 with some of the funny first draft efforts of "Thoughts from the Sidelines" from my voice "sometimes" recognition program. I hope you have enjoyed my efforts and insights. Here are just a few—It's not hard to figure out what I was actually trying to say:
Thoughts from "the Silence": Roger Federer became Roger "Feather" / Roger "Fender"; Rafael Nadal: Rafael "Needto"/"Rockfield Mundell"; Hunter Mahan: Hunter "Mayhem"; Charlie Manuel: Charlie "Mango"/Charlie "Mangle"/Charlie "Manual"; Nick Foles: "Lick Phones" and Payton Manning: "Paying Mannequins."
And a few of the fractured sentences: "Rockfield Mundell" did not play. He is out since July with "crumbs" in both knees...Vijay Singh was exonerated from being "paralyzed" for taking a "limo"... Chicago ultimately "warmed" the cup with record setting "temps" in the third... This week is "spit up" or shut up. The only American male who has a chance to do well in the "toilet" is John Isner...The team from Japan won the "little, lonely" World Series...I will be "leaving" for the US but I hope it's "closed"...US Open "toured mint" with not "feeding the dog in the new moon"...Huge week in golf with the "fixed" cup playoffs...The President's Cup needs to be different than "buttercup" in some ways...If Boston was the only one of those to advance to the "serious," I would have to cheer for them because of the Boston "terrier" attack...The Cape soccer team is still in the "river" and will play "salads" as a huge "flavor"...I hope the Phillies try to get younger "pictures"..."Portable" has one of the best players in the World "Christmas" who's "not well in Germany."
Official News
It's pretty amazing that the Philadelphia Eagles are in the playoffs! The Eagles will be hosting the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, broadcast on NBC. I have no clue who's going to win the game. The Saints are almost unbeatable at home in the Superdome so maybe the Eagles will get lucky since they will be playing in Philly with temperatures in the 20s. Despite the cold weather, this should be a high scoring game with two very efficient offenses. Did you know that Drew Brees and Nick Foles graduated from the same high school in Texas 10 years apart? That being said, Happy New Year, everyone, and Go, Eagles!!
