The atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration as Scout Troop 1, Lewes, held its spring Court of Honor, recognizing the hard work and dedication of its members. Approximately 75 attendees gathered at The Crossing church to honor the achievements of over 20 scouts who earned awards and other recognitions.

The program theme, Building Leaders, One Scout at a Time, resonated throughout the ceremony as scouts were acknowledged for their advancements along with their potential to lead and inspire others. With a cheer, the crowd welcomed five new scouts who recently crossed over from Pack 1 to Troop 1.

In all, 62 merit badges were awarded, along with 10 rank advancements, highlighting the scouts’ commitment to personal growth and community service. Among notable recognitions, Ian Campbell received two Eagle Palms, one bronze and one gold, a testament to his exceptional leadership and dedication to the scouting program. Also, Campbell and M.J. Strunk earned the National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping.

Over the last quarter, the troop completed a total of 212 hiking miles, and members recorded 40 hours of conservation service hours throughout 2024.
