New Road reopens in Lewes
Chesapeake Utilities has completed construction on New Road.
It is now open to traffic into and out of the City of Lewes.
Equipment has been removed from Forecastle Lane, which is also now open to traffic.
Tennis, pickleball events set Nov. 28-Dec. 1
Dave Marshall Tennis & Pickleball is offering Thanksgiving weekend options for working off those holiday calories.
Thanksgiving Day Pre Turkey Pickleball for all levels, social to advanced, will take place from 8 to 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 28. Players will be grouped by level.
Sessions for various levels of pickleball play will take place Friday, Nov. 29. Tennis clinics are among the offerings for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, along with more pickleball options both days and a Saturday tournament.

Friends of Milton library sets special membership drive
Friends of the Milton Public Library will be holding a new membership drive special during December. Annual memberships purchased this December are good for 13 months, through January 2026. Membership forms can be found in the Friends book and gift shop at 121 Union St., Milton, and online at milton.lib.de.us/friends.
UUSD to meet Dec. 1
The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold a service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, with The Land of Awes as the topic. UUSD member Don Peterson said, “As we enter the season of awe, we will explore what it means to be ‘in awe.’ When does it happen? What does the emotion feel like? AARP Chapter 5340 to meet Dec. 2
The American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 5340 will hold its holiday gathering at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at Pizza King in Millsboro. Setting aside time so members can enjoy the spirit of fellowship and cheer, the chapter will take a break from its speaker series. Donations will be accepted for Pallet Village in Georgetown. Angola Road set to reopen Dec. 2
Angola Road will be open starting Monday, Dec. 2. There will be some daytime lane closures 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for various work activities over the winter such as guardrail and signal construction, and the right-turn lane from Angola Road onto eastbound Route 24 will remain closed. The final paving will be scheduled in the spring.

Lewes ARPA special meeting Dec. 2
Lewes Mayor and City Council will discuss the allocation of the city’s remaining ARPA funds at a special meeting at 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at city hall.

NARFE holiday lunch RSVPs due Dec. 5
National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Coastal Sussex Chapter Chapter 1690 will hold its holiday luncheon at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, at 1776 Steakhouse in the Midway Shopping Center, Route 1, Rehoboth Beach. Reservations must be made by emailing fullerwe@comcast.net by Thursday, Dec. 5. The chapter will be collecting gifts for men and women residing at Breakwater Village (formerly Harbor Healthcare) in Lewes. Attendees are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. to facilitate check-in.
St. George’s Christmas Bazaar set Dec. 6-7
The St. George's Christmas Bazaar is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, at St. George's parish hall, 20332 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson.
The bazaar offers a variety of handmade crafts, a Christmas White Elephant exchange, bake sale and vendors. Food and refreshments will be served, and there will also be themed raffle baskets and a 50/50. There is no charge for admission, and all are welcome.
Tours of the historic St. George’s Chapel across from the parish hall will also be available throughout the day.
Event proceeds will benefit local charities. St. George's Chapel is handicapped accessible and there is ample off-street parking.
