The Rehoboth Beach Homeowners Association and Rehoboth Beach Main Street held a Wreaths Across America ceremony Dec. 14, at the Epworth Cemetery on Henlopen Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. The ceremony welcomed representatives from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW-MIA. About 150 people, including elected officials, placed wreathes at each veteran’s gravesite in a somber event.
Steve Curson, location coordinator for Wreaths Across America, said he believes Epworth Cemetery is the only private, non-military cemetery in the state to hold the remembrance.
“We believe we have around 185 to 190 veterans interred here,” he said.
