Lewes Community Garden recently received a $15,000 grant from ChristianaCare.
The all-volunteer community garden has been managed and tended by its members since 2019. The garden fund is managed through the Greater Lewes Foundation.
Monies will go toward adding garden beds and improving infrastructure, expanding the harvest donation program that assists local food pantries, increasing community outreach and education, supporting native plant restoration, and improving composting abilities.
Two garden beds are available at this time. Local community groups and nonprofits can refer families with limited financial resources to the sponsored garden bed program.
