‘Truth, Lies and Questions in Between’ author talk set March 20

March 12, 2025

During Women’s History Month, the Lewes Public Library and Browseabout Books will welcome bestselling author L.M. Elliott for a discussion and book signing of her new historical fiction novel, “Truth, Lies and the Questions in Between,” at 5 p.m., Thursday, March 20, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. The event will also stream live online via Zoom.

As one of the Senate’s first female congressional pages, Patty Appleton is not only paving the way for other politically minded girls, she also has a front-row seat to debates dividing the nation, especially around women’s rights and roles. Illustrated throughout with remarkable real-life images and headlines, this timely exploration of 1973 – the year of Watergate, the Equal Rights Amendment, Roe v. Wade, and the return of Vietnam War veterans – unfolds through the story of a young woman driven to question everything as she learns to think for and rely on herself.

Registration is required, and participants will be asked to select virtual or in-person attendance when registering. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Elliott was an award-winning senior writer with Washingtonian magazine for 20 years before becoming a bestselling author of historical and biographical novels.
