Genealogist to discuss research resources March 24

Rehoboth Beach Public Library will present Digging Up Your Roots at 6 p.m., Monday, March 24, at 226 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Local genealogist Chris Puda will discuss key resources and techniques that he used to uncover centuries of his family’s history, both within the United States and abroad.

Informed by more than 13 years of genealogical fact-finding, his research has enabled him to rediscover more than 15,000 forgotten relatives and family friends throughout the northeastern United States, Sweden and Poland. His deeper research has uncovered a few surprises, including a controversial marriage license and his relationship to a renowned American novelist. 

Attendees will learn how to find and identify relatives with census documents, databases, and good old-fashioned detective skills.
