The Delmarva Christian girls’ soccer team fell victim to the Wildcats of Delmar 5-0 April 10 on the Royals’ home pitch. The Royals move to 1-5, while the Wildcats are 6-1.
Delmar senior Mackenzie Carroll led the Wildcats with two goals and an assist. Alexa Joudrey, Rylin Nichols and Ava Reid each hit the back of the twine for a score. Senior Anabel Contreras and Abigail Neal added a helper each.
“Delmar is a tough team, but I thought we played well against them,” said Royals coach Curtis Jones. “Tori Royster had some great saves in goal and has shown herself to be a standout keeper this season. Madeline Taylor got off a few great shots that Delmar's keeper was able to get to. We're never looking for a loss, but overall we held our own, and we'll use this match to help us prepare for the rest of the season.”
The Royals will face 2-4 Sussex Tech Tuesday, April 15 at Sandhill Fields in Georgetown.
