Waiting to See if the Commercials are Better than the Game
It's finally time for the Super Bowl. This year's matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks should be a great game considering both teams are the number one seeds in their respective conferences. That doesn't seem to happen very much in modern-day football. In the last 20 years, it has only happened once, and strangely enough that was last year's game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks. It was a total blowout game and not much fun to watch.
I just hope this year's game is more competitive. I'm not a huge Seattle Seahawks fan so I am hoping that the Patriots win the game and give Tom Brady his fourth Super Bowl ring in a record six attempts. If the Seahawks do pull off a win I am not looking forward to the pompous remarks that will follow.
Phoenix, Arizona will be the epicenter of the sports world this weekend because along with the Super Bowl, the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament is being contested as well. Both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are playing there this week. This tournament seems to draw the most fans of any non-major golf event. The atmosphere is going to be crazier than ever! I will be watching golf instead of the ridiculously long Super Bowl pregame show.
College basketball garnered a good bit of press this past week when Mike Krzyzewski accomplished a very cool milestone. He won his 1000th game as the head coach of Duke! That is going to be hard for anyone to beat. Way to go Coach K!
Even though the Blizzard of 2015 missed us, it's still freaking winter out there! I wish I had some interesting news to report on the baseball front, but that will have to wait a few more weeks. At least January is coming to a close!
